moving in a week!!

Ok, I'm trying to post from my phone, so I'm hoping this works!
So we booked our tickets yesterday, to fly to Nova Scotia next Tuesday!! Norm called the military and they still don't have his training date, and said it could be a while. So we decided to go and live with my parents. At least there I have a job. I don't know why I thought we could get everything done in a week though! I'm going crazy trying to pack up our house, rent it, sell our car, pack for the next 7 or 8 months...ahhhhhhh!!!so norm will be there with me for at least a month or 2. If anyones husbands love football, paintball, action movies, working out and all that other guy stuff, Norm would love to make some new friends! Lol. Gotta get back to packing, which is really hard with a baby I might add! See most of you soon!!!

Look what I woke up to this morning!!

And the bad news is, its afternoon, and its not gone!!! Its still snowing!!!

Winter makes me so depressed. I miss Nova Scotia winters. At least there you can do something with the snow. The snow we get here isnt snowman snow! And it stays around, im okay with it turning to rain, and melting. So since im trying to still be in denial, here are some of my favorite pics from the summer:)

Big Changes!!! and Summer Update!

Since I last updated..ok....this is gonna be long!! But if you make it to the end, you'll find out my big news....
Becca celebrated her first birthday!! On her actual birthday Norm and I left her with our friends, and went out to a Stampeders game. I figured we should celebrate what I went through the year before..lol Then on Sunday we had a party with family and a few friends. I cant believe how fast this past year went. It seems like just yesterday she was born! I made her a health apple cake, with banana icing. She didn't make much of a mess with it though.

The day after her party was a holiday, so we went to the Calgary Military Museum. Norm hadnt been there since he was a kid. We invited his brothers and their kids to come with us. It was interesting. Not my idea of fun, but Norm enjoyed it.

Hannah came out the first week of August, and brought the rain with her! I had so many plans of what we were gonna do, mostly outdoors stuff, and of course it had to rain! We went to see the Lion King Broadway production though, which was awesome!! If you ever have the chance to go, I highly recommend it! We went to Calaway park on the weekend she was here to. I had never been, so it was fun. Im not much of a rides person, but Hannah and Norm are, so it was nice they were able to go together. Have I mentioned that my sister is an amazing artist?? For our 2nd wedding anniversary she painted us a picture of the Cardston temple! I almost cried, ok well maybe cried a little, when I opened it.

The second weekend of August our niece Ella was blessed, she looked so cute!!

It was Rebeccas 5th time flying, and the first time I found out that if the plane is not full, they will book you a seat, for free, so you can bring your car seat. It made such a difference!! Its tiring to hold a wiggly baby for 5 hours. With her car seat she was able to watch treehouse, and then sleep, which meant that I was able sleep!:)
When we got there, we went right to my grandparents summer place, down by Cape Breton. I hadnt been there for 3 years. Almost all my dads siblings, and their kids were down there too. It was awesome to see everyone! Norm joined us 4 days later, and it was nice for him to meet all my dads family. We had a few nice beach days, mostly before Norm got there though..lol. In total there were 21 of us staying in a 3 br home with 1 bathroom. We had a few tents, and a trailer, but when the hurricane came, it was pretty cramped! It was nice to be with family though! We celebrated Hannahs 16th birthday in the middle of the hurricane. My grandfather,who passed away last year, was named Bill, same as the hurricane, so everyone joked that he just wanted to be there for the party!

We got to enjoy some good old Cape Breton fiddle music. I never really cared for it when I lived here, but now that im not around it, I appreciate my Nova Scotian heritage. Norm thought every song sounded the same..lol.
We went to Fort Lousisburg one day. It was one of the things Norm wanted to do while we were back. Since its a french fort, they give you a hard time if you're English. I speak french though, and told them that Norm was a spy, so they gave him a hard time. It was fun:)

I got mom to take some family pictures for us while we were there. We waited till one of the last nights Norm was there though, and it was soooo cold at the beach that night!! We were trying to look warm and happy..lol Here are a few of my favorites.

Norms been after me all summer to let him shave his head. So since we had some nice pictures ( and the fact that I wouldnt see him for 2 weeks..lol) I decided to give in and let him. My dad is balding, and so is his brother, so Norm thought it would be funny to shave the “Ehler” hairdo in first.

Now for the BIG CHANGES!! Are you ready for it??? OK!
My sexy husband has joined the military. We've kinda kept it hush hush, since everyone we have told has freaked out. But well, it was a long time coming, it wasnt an overnight decision. We've been thinking and praying about it for a long time. Norm's signed up to be an Armoured Soldier, so he'll be working with tanks. I feel good about it. Its weird cause my head tells me that I should be freaking out right now, that I should be screaming at him not to do this. But my heart is telling me that this is the right thing, and that he'll be ok. So we're almost ready to set out on this new adventure. We're just waiting on a few paperwork things to be finished, and he'll be off to basic training. Then the fun starts for me, cause guess what that means?? I'll be moving back to Nova Scotia! His first 3 months of training is in Quebec, and the next 3 is in NB, so why would I stay all the way out west? Im gonna move back in with my family while he's in training. I might even go back to work, since mom's offered to watch Becca, but i'll take one big change at a time.

Wedding..Canada Day...Boating...Camping..and New Hair!

Wow..its been a while..im going to attempt to update on the past month!

So last month, Our friends Niels and Julie got married!! yay!! Norm was the best man, so we went down to Cardston! They had beautiful weather!! I seriously love weddings! I would LOVE to be a wedding planner. Anyhow, here's some pics from their big day.

Sometime last month, my loving husband surprised me with flowers!! He's doing landscaping for the summer, so picked them himself. They smelled soooo good!! I love him!

Canada day was lots of fun! We all wore our Canada colors! Norms parents were gone for the weekend, so we had a party! lol Then the guys went to the Stampeders football game, while us girls and the kids just hung out here.

In my last entry I forgot to mention that Norms brother, and sister in law had their baby! She is so cute! It took them like a month to name her, but I think they picked a perfect name! Here's little Ella Lindsay. Congrats Dana and Shawn!!!

It was Norms dads birthday this month. So we had a family party for him. We all went down to my brother in laws parents place on the lake. It was lots of fun! It was our first time camping with Becca, she did pretty good, except for waking up at the break of dawn. We took Becca out on the boat for her first time too! She loved it, so much that she fell asleep..lol. I went tubing for the first time. I was against doing it, but Norm made me, and im glad he did, cause it was way fun!

Last weekend we went to Norms parents "Cabin" ( Its more like a house..lol) We went with one of my good friends Laura, who happens to be dating Norms cousin Chris, so that works out good..lol. It was so nice! It was my first time at the cabin. There's something relaxing about being in the middle of mountains. Almost as relaxing as being on the ocean. They had a firework show while we were there called Thunder in the Valley. It was awesome! It went on for over half an hour. I was scared that Becca would freak out, but she loved it!

The "Cabin"

Thats pretty much what we've been up to lately! My sister Hannah gets here in 10 days!! Im so excited!! We're gonna do lots of fun stuff! And then she's going to EFY out here. Then on the 17th, we're coming back to NS!!! I am sooooooo excited!!!!!!!! Rebecca and I are flying back with Hannah and then Norm is joining us a week later, for just a week. We're going to my grandparents summer place, down by Cape Breton for 2 weeks. And then Becca and I will be at my parents place till September 10th, so I hope to see everyone!!

We're in the process of trying to decide what to do with our life, so stay tuned for exciting updates!lol Since our house hasnt sold yet, Norms not able to go back to school. So there could be some big changes coming up! we'll see:)

Oh, wait, one more thing! I chopped my hair off, or well my sister in law, the professional did. I got over 6 inches off! I loved my hair long, but it was too hot. So here's my new do!
