My First Nelson Christmas!

Surpise...

Well...I have lots of exciting stuff to write about!!!
First of all, most of you probably know this by now, but if not, Im Pregnant!! How crazy is that?! haha. Im only about 10 weeks right now, Im due July 22nd. I've been SOOOOOOOOO SICK!!! Its no fun at all!! haha. Im just hoping that in a few weeks i'll be beter. I've been taking some medication that I got from the doctor for it, it helps a bit. Anyhow, Norm and I are both super excited about it! Even though it was somewhat of a surprise, who knew that I'd be ovulating the day I was suposed to start my period. We both really wanted kids though, so its a good surprise:) Its so cute how into it Norm is. He went shopping the other day when I was working, and bough a crib and bunch of other baby stuff. He was setting up the baby room a bit last night, it was so cute!! haha SOOOOO many people are prego right now, its crazy!!! My sister in law is pregnant with twins, my best friend is pregnant, and there's a couple that Norm and I hang out with here, and she's pregnant too! Its nice though to have other people going through the same thing with me:)

So in other news, I have another new job..haha. Im still working with the special needs ladies, but I couldnt do it full time anymore, being sick and whatnot. And I couldnt deal with working nights anymore. So im staying there part time, working a few evenings and saturdays. But for full time, im working at the elementary school here as a teaching assistant. I really enjoy it!! Its nice to have 2 weeks off for Christmas!! I took the time off from my other job too, so Norm and I are in Calgary now for a week and a bit, staying with Norms parents. It should be fun:) Norm also got a new job. Its nice, cause he's making so much more money!!! Which will be good once I take maternity leave. He's working for a company called CerPro, its an oil and gas company. He works about 70 hours a week!! But its nice that he gets time off for Christmas too!!
Anyhow, its time for supper...so I should get going.

1. I am scared of the dark. Im fine when im in bed, or if there's someone with me, but if I have to go through a dark room I totally run. And I hate going down in the basement at night.

2.I went on my first date with my husband when I still had a boyfriend back in NS.

3.Unlike Kellie, I actually did make out with Aaron Smith, but just once.

4.I only dated my husband for 3 weeks before we got engaged.

5.I live next door to a creepy abandoned house, and the town I live in has Star Trek conventions every year..haha.

6.I miss my family so much that I pretty much call them everyday.

7.I want a baby! haha

I guess those things werent really random...but it was the best I could do. I donno how hasnt been tagged yet...so i'll tag Kristi, Chantelle, and Karen:)

Its been a while..

Its been a while since I last wrote...so I dont know where to start.

Well its offical, I have now changed jobs more than anyone I know! haha I finished at the daycare last week. I enjoyed the kids I was working with, but it wasnt really enough money. So now, im working for Wheat Country Special Needs. Its an interesing job. I really like the ladies I work with though, so its good:) Lets see if I can keep this one for longer than a month! haha

So I had my first weekend away from Norm since we've been married. My sister in laws and I had a girls weekend in Banff! Its was weird to be away from him, for even just 2 nights. It made me miss him, and made us both appreciate eachother more:) Our girls weekend was way fun though! We relaxed, did our nails, soaked in the hot tub, went hiking, and went out...and of course ate a bunch of chocolate and all the other junk food I never eat anymore! haha We stayed in a nice lodge. The view from my window was beautiful, but when I went to take a pic of it, on our last day, it was snowing, so its hard to see.

This is the last pic I have if my hair long...I was tired of having to straighten, or curl it everyday cause of the last of my perm that I had in there. So last weekend I was up in Calgary, and decided I wanted to just chop out the perm! So I went to visit Diana, and she gave me an amazing hair cut! I dont have any pics of it yet, but i'll put some up when I take some:)

Speaking of D, in my last entry I was writting about how its a small world, well it turns out its even smaller! haha Diana went to Manitoba a little while ago, met Kristi at church!! Its crazy!

Nothing to exciting...

I dont really have anything exciting to write about...im just home sick from work today, so wanted something to do.

I got a flu shot yesterday, and feel like crap today!! I just hope I feel better by tomorrow..and I better not get the flu at ALL this winter!! haha I had to get it cause of work, being around kids all the time. Norm hurt his back at work yesterday, and had to go to the hospital. He's doing better today though, and went back to work.

We went into Calgary for the weekend. It was nice to get outta the small town for a bit! haha

Friday night we went to Norms brother Aarons for dinner and a movie. It was lots of fun! Aaron has a new girlfriend, so it was our first time meeting her. I really like her, they seem happy. Norms other brother and sister came too. Dana and Shawn brought Averi. I got to hold her a lot, she is sooo cute! I think im over my baby fever now though! haha

Aaron also has a new roommate. It was so funny. There we all were eating supper, and someone asked him about his new roommate. And Aaron was like oh yea, he took Ariel on her first date! haha. How weird is that?! He lives with Kory Burstall. I had no idea..haha. Its a small world! And then Kory came home later when we were watching a movie, and came over to me and was like hey im Kory, nice to meet you! haha My sister in law said back off she's married! haha. It was a fun night. We watched transformers, Norms favorite movie! I think its more cause he thinks the girl is hot! haha

Saturday night we went and hung out with Dana and the kids. We left Norm with them for a bit, and went to check out their new house they're building. Babies scare Norm, cause they're so little and helpless that he's scared he'll break them. Im proud of him for babysitting all by himself! And Averi was fine when we got home:)

Sunday, we just went to church and hung out with the family, I had a nice 3 hour nap while they watched football..haha

I got some parcels from Mom yesterday! She's sending me the rest of the stuff I need, like my winter stuff and such. It was nice to have it, but at the same time made me sad. It was stuff that I left at home cause I planned on being back in Nova Scotia by now! I missed Calebs birthday on the weekend. It honestly breaks my heart! He turned 8, and is getting baptized in 2 weeks. I wish more than anything that I could be there!! Mom said that his birthday wish was that Norm and I would move back there! I miss my family so much!!! Anyhow, in one of the parcels mom included our professional pics. Some were really good, but overall we werent super impressed..oh well. I'll post some of my favorites!!

Our Trip to Utah!!

Its been a week since I started this entry!! Im determined to finish it today! haha







We're back now from our super fun road trip to Utah!! It was our first big road trip together, so that was exciting!:) Nothing like 12 straight hours in a car together to make sure you're meant to be together! haha. I think the easiest way to do this is day by day.





Day 1:


We left at 7am, and started out on our adventure. The drive was pretty good. We didnt have any problems at the border. We took turns driving, so it went by pretty fast. The only bad part was when I had to pee SOOOOOOOOOO BAD and we were somewhere in Montana with no where to stop! It was seriously the worst ever!! I was so close to just pulling over and going on the side of the road! haha When finally there was a "parking area" with an outhouse! It was gross but I didnt even care. I love my husband, and how supportive he was..aha. He felt so bad for me, and told me later that we passed a nice rest area, and that he didnt tell me cause it was to late. He's lucky that he didnt! haha We got to Layton around 7 or 8 that night. We stayed with Norms Aunt and Uncle, so that was fun! Day 2:
On our first full day in utah, Norm decided it would be a good idea to take me to Temple Square! I was soooooo excited!! When I think back to the last General Confrence, never at that time did I think that i'd be married, and going to the next one in Utah! It was almost surreal!! It's weird to see pictures of a certain place your whole life, and think someday i'll go there, and then to actually be there!! haha There was so much to see and do, it was so much fun! We first went to the confrence center, and had a tour by this really sweet old lady. Its so much bigger than it looks. And the acoustics were great!! You can hear a pin drop on the stage from the back!!








After the confrence center, we checked out a lot of different places. The visitor centers, the museum, oh, and we watched the Josesph Smith movie! It was SOOOOOOOO good!!! Im not sure if its on video, but if it is, everyone needs to see it!!!







We also went to The Beehive house, where Brigham Young lived. It was a really nice tour, except for this creepy guy that was on the tour with us. He was a bit "off" and kept saying that he heard that Brigham Young's 19th wife was haunting the place!...so that was a bit weird..haha After seeing all our touristy stuff, we went back to Norms Aunt and Uncles for dinner with the family, and then went to Reta's place! It was so nice to see her so soon after my wedding! We had gone like 2 years before, and then it was just a month! It was nice to see Sean too. Their house is so cute!!





Day 3:
We went to the Logan temple with Reta! It was so great to have her there for my 2nd time going through the temple! I love going to the temple so much!! And Logan was a really nice one! I loved seeing all the newly married couples here too! It seems so long ago that I got married..I cant believe its been under 2 months! haha


After the temple Reta took us out to lunch. And then she had to work, so Norm took me shopping! I love my husband! He bought me a cute outfit for his mission rehunion that we had that night! It was raining that night, and traffic was crazy! It was like people couldnt drive in the rain! We drove past 7 accidents! So it took us 2 hours to get to the rehunion. But it was fun! It was nice to meet all the people Norm had told me stories about. He enjoyed showing me off to them all too..haha.

Day 4:
We woke up to snow!! haha
We listened to the first session of confrence in the mall (only in Utah can you shop and hear that at the same time! It was great! haha) Norm bought me a super cute little mermaid hoodie. Then we went down to Temple Square again, and met up with one of his mission companions for lunch! It was raining, and sooooo cold! We had to park way far away too, cause there were so many people there! We got interviewed for the paper though! They spelt our last name wrong, but you can read the article here...http://deseretnews.com/article/content/mobile/0,5223,695216488,00.html. Being in Utah for my first time, and during confrence time, the anti mormon protesters amazed me. Its so sad that they travel, and take time outta their lives to bash on someone elses religion. We listened to the 2nd session in temple square, and on the radio, so that was nice. It was nice to just be there for it, and to feel the spirit thats there. That night the boys had the priesthood session, so we had a girls night. We played board games, and talked. It was nice to get to know Norms extended family better:)


Day 5:
We got up 15 mins before confrence, and watched it on tv at his uncles. Its nice that you can watch it on tv there! Then we went to Norms other Aunts for the 2nd session. And picked apples with her. We told her that we wouldnt be able to bring them back to Canada. But she wouldnt listen, so Reta and Sean ended up with 2 boxes of apples..lol. We went to Reta and Seans for a Thanksgiving dinner! Its nice to hang out with married friends. I feel like since we've been married our single friends dont really wanna hang out anymore, which sucks! Dinner was way good!!! They smoked the turkey for a couple hours before cooking it, it was yummy!!! Then we just watched movies, and fell asleep!:)

Day 6:
Time to go home!!
We really werent looking forward to our long 12 hour drive home! The drive home seemed longer for me! Nothing eventful happened..haha..we made it home safe and sound, and that was our trip:)


For anyone who made it through that whole entry...here is whats going on in my life now..haha
Im a working woman now..haha.."finally!" says Norm! Im working at the daycare. I have the preschool level, which is a handfull!! For the most part im enjoying it though. I think Norm was hoping that by me working there I wouldnt want kids right away, but to be honest, working there makes me want them more! haha Because they're cute, and it would mean i'd be teaching my own child instead of someone elses. I honestly feel bad for the kids that are there longer then me! Personally I wouldnt want someone else raising my kids! haha


Norm got a job as well. He's working in the lumber yard at a place called UFA. I dont think he "loves" it. But its something for now. Its really hard work. But its good in a way cause he gets discounts, and where we're renovating our house a lot, its gonna help out big time in that way!


Speaking of my husband, I love him more and more everyday!!! Now that we're both working, i've found that we're both a lot happier! I was having a bad day today at work..and told Norm about it on my lunch break, so tonight when he got home from work, he had bought me rainbow sherbet, my favorite!! I was like whats this for, and he was like I know you were having a bad, and I just want my baby to be happy! How cute is that?!


We got a gym pass together at the gym here! We've been working out everyday for the last week! I love it!! I've lost 12lbs since I moved to Alberta, just from eating differently. Im really enjoying the gym though, Im excited to get toned..haha


Anyhow, I should go clean the kitchen before Norm gets home from Fire Fighting practice!

Sick..and love my new family!!!

I have been sooooo sick this past week!! Its not fun at all!! Norm has a bad cold, so of course I caught that. And as if that wasnt bad enough, I got the stomach flu on top of that!(no, im not prego!! haha) Today is the first day I've been outta bed really. Its been so gross!! haha But I have to say that I love my husband sooooooooooo much for taking care of me!! And my mother in law!! You know how when you're sick you just want your mom? Well thats how i've been the past week, and as great as Norm is, its just not the same..haha. Well yesterday, my sister in law was comming down to do some paperwork for a house she was gonna buy. And my mother in law came with her, and get this! She's crazy!! She just went to town cleaning my house!! She did like 4 loads of laundry, and all the dishes, and cleaned all the floors, and the bathroom. She said not to get used to it cause it only happens once in a while, but she's amazing!!! She even brought me soup!! I'd have to say that was the next best thing to having my own mom here!!

So..in other news...Norm quit his job yesterday! haha As much as we're starting to freak out a bit, with neither of us being employeed, it was for the best! The company he was working for wasnt good. The other week he showed up at work at 6am like always, and the bosses werent there. So him and the other guys waited around till they showed up at 8am! And then the guys said they werent gonna pay them for those 2 hours they were working, and that they should have came and woken them up! And then yesterday, they said they were gonna decrease everyones wages by $3! Im pretty sure by law they cant just do that, but Norm had enough and quit on the spot. I guess 5 or 6 other guys quit too, so thats good..haha. He's out looking right now though for a new one..I dont think he'll have a problem.

As long as he gets a job..we're going to Utah in less than a week! I cant wait!!! I've never been, and i'll get to see Reta again!! yay!! We're going for a mission rehunion and confrence! Soooooo excited!!

I should get going..I think im gonna go rake some leaves before Norm gets home. And before it snows, they're calling for 5 to 10cms tonight!! I miss Nova Scotia falls!! haha

Im Married!!!

Well its official...im now Mrs. Nelson. How weird is that?? I've been married for about 2 and 1/2 weeks now..and I have to say that im enjoying it!! haha

Everything about our wedding was perfect:) even the weather!!

We went down to Cardston the night before our wedding, and stayed in a hotel there. And it was POURING rain!! There was even thunder and lightning!! I was so freaking out! I just wanted it to be sunny for our big day! Thankfully it was nice and sunny by 6am!

I was up bright and early! My sister in law did my hair, and it looked even more perfect then our run throughs! If you know anything about my family its that we're always late! Especially my mom!! hahah. So why should we be on time for my own wedding?!!! haha. We were suposed to be at the temple at 9am...and well we got there at about 9:20! haha.Poor Norm..the temple workers kept asking him are you sure she's coming? And was like yea, she's an Ehler, they're always late! haha.

Our ceremony was perfect! It was such an amazing experiance! I held it together! and didnt ruin my makeup! haha

We had a lunchin in Cardston right after pics at the temple. It was way nice! Our mothers gave toasts to us there, which were way good. I wasnt as good at holding it together when my mom gave hers! haha. After Cardston we had a nice long drive back to Calgary. It was so nice driving back with my husband! I just kept calling him my husband, and he kept calling me his wife, just so it would sink in.

When we got back to his parents place, I totally crashed on the couch, in my wedding dress! haha. It was a well needed nap though, and im so glad I took it. I had to have my hair fixed up afterwards, but it was worth it! haha.

The reception in Calgary was very nice! I hadnt seen it beforehand. My mother in law made all the decorating decisions, and she did a very good job! We had a reciving line there though, and argh! haha. My face hurt afterwards! I can only smile for so long! We were standing there for an hour and 1/2! haha

The rest of the reception was great though!!! We had some great toasts by our best friends and dads! Norms sister sang, which was amazing! She's so good! And then we had our first dance to "for you" by duncan sheik..I think thats how you spell it. Its a way nice song! Norm played and sang it to me in the car one night before he told me that he didnt want to date anyone else.

For our wedding night we just came home to our house, so that was nice.

We did a gift opening the next day at his parents place. We got soooooo much stuff!! 4 crock pots, and 3 toaster ovens..haha.

So then we went back to Nova Scotia for our "honeymoon" and reception there. We stayed in a nice cottage on the water. It was perfect! So nice to wake up every morning and see the water!

We did all the toristy stuff like peggys cove, and the waterfront, and the citidal. It was really nice to have Norm back where Im from. He loved it!! And if things work out, we could be back there in a year! So we'll see:)

I really enjoyed my reception there!!! It was so nice to have all my friends and family there! Whereas here I didnt know over 1/2 the people there! We had our reception at the St. Marys Boat club. It was perfect weather for that too! We had a great photographer. I cant wait to get my pics back from him!! Nathan brought doves for us to release, which was way nice!!

For our first dance in NS my cousins played violin and guitar..which was awesome!!

It was so sad leaving to come back here! Im being a stay at home wife right now while I wait for my criminal record thing to clear. I've applied to be a TA at the elementary school, and if that doesnt work out, Im gonna work at the daycare.

Its totally snowing here right now! Thats so not cool!! I should go clean the kitchen..and get lunch ready for my husband!

I love my family!!

I love my family soooo much! Its amazing having them here!! I cant believe how fast the week is going though! I cant believe I get married the day after tomorrow!!! AHHHHH!!! haha. I cant wait though!

We've havent done a whole lot since my familys been here. Its just been good to relax with them, and for Norm to get to know them better.

We went horseback riding yesterday, which was a lot of fun!! My fiance looks hot as a cowboy..haha. We had a big bonfire and bbq here last night too. It was probably the most people we've ever had in our house. The Lyon family came which was fun. We all used to be good friends in NS till they moved to BC. So it was nice to spend some time with them. They're comming to my wedding too, which will be nice.

I have my car back now!! Its so exciting! My dad got here Tuesday night with it. Norms always been really great at letting me use his, but its just different having my own back! Like today, im picking Reta up from the airport, and had told Norm about it, and he was like I dont want to put all those kms on my car. And I was like..I have my own car, so we dont have to!! haha Mom and I are gonna go shopping in the city this morning too. There's so many little last min things I need to get done. We're taking everyone to Banff today too. It will be nice to show them the moutains. And to go back to where Norm took me for our first date!!

So I got the dress situation all figured out! I tried it on again yesterday, and had a total breakdown..haha. Im so grateful for my mom..hha she took charge of the situation. She took it down to some lady in town, and told her it was an emergency! haha So im going today for a fitting, and it will be ready tomorrow. I think that was the last big thing I was stressed out about. I should get going and start my day! The next time I write I'll probably be Mrs. Nelson, how weird is that?!!

Cant wait for 5:30!!!!!!

Can I just say that I am SOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!
Im here at my parent in laws place for the after noon trying to kill time! My family flys in in less than 2 hours and I cant wait!!!! I've missed them sooooooo much!! Its all still so weird, I cant believe they get here today! And that I go through the temple tomorrow, and get married in 5 days!!! AHHHHHH!!! Its all too much to take in..haha

So I tried on my wedding dress the other day for the first time since I bought it...:s. I thought that with my crinoline and heals it wouldnt need to be hemmed..but its still an inch too long!! im totally freaking out and trying to find someone who can hem it for me in 5 days!! ahhhhhh!!! Other then that most of the wedding stuff is all set. I had my 2nd trial run with my hair today, I love it! My sister in law is amazing!!! Im so happy with it!!!

We just realized that with the rush hour traffic we need to leave early...i'll write more later!

Im not good at this blog thing right now...

I cant believe I let it go so long without writing an entry. I keep meaning to, then get side tracked with wedding stuff!

So I quit my job today!! haha. I'd had enough. I did enjoy it for the first little bit, but can I just say, some people are gross! You wouldn't believe the kinda stuff I had to deal with cleaning room..its was just gross!! I also had to clean the bar bathrooms last week, and that was disgusting!!! There was dried up puke on the floor that I had to soak then clean..blah! So even though I really liked the girls I worked with, it felt good to walk in there and quit! haha My sister in law is opening a restaurant just a block away from me, so im working there now full time as a waitress. I think i'll like it a lot better!!

Im getting soooooooooo excited!!! My family gets here in like 5 days!!! I havent seen them for 4 months! And I cant wait!!! Norm keeps saying that im more excited to see them then get married, and I have to admit that right now, yea I am! haha

All the wedding stuff is pretty much done now. Im just working on my flowers, the sideshow, and music right now. The easy stuff:) I cant believe our big day is getting sooooooo close! It doesn't really seem real yet!!

So Norm and I have a new little niece!! She is sooooooooooooo cute!! and tiny!! Kinda makes me want one, but not really.haha. I can wait a while:)

Norm got his firefighters uniform tonight, he looks way hot in it! haha There's just something about a boy in uniform! haha.

I should get to bed...im not used to working early anymore, and I have to be up early tomorrow! I'll try to update more often!!

Sick of invitations!!!

I need to take a break from doing wedding invitations before I go crazy!! haha So I thought i'd update a bit!!

Things are going good here. I have a job now. Im working at the Vulcan Country Inn as a waitress and housekeeper. Im really enjoying it!! I havent been working a lot of hours this week cause we're not fully booked. But its a good thing, cause it gives me time to get all this wedding stuff done.

Norm is living in town now!!! He's pretty much here all the time except at night, when he sleeps at his aunts. He started his new job on Monday too. He's loving it! He works 6:30 till 5:30 everyday. He's been framing a house this week, so is outside all day. I have to admit that im kinda jealous of the hot tan he's getting. I might have to go do some tanning before the wedding! haha. I cant believe that we're getting married a month from today!! Time is going soooooo fast!! I cant wait!!

Last weekend was a lot of fun!! We all just relaxed a lot. Went swimming in the pool..and had a few bbqs and bonfires. I'll upload some pics of it! I love that even though i've only known Norms family for like 3 months that I already feel super comfortable with them. Its like i've known them my whole life. It was nice having my house full of people!! Omg, guess what?! Norms sister and husband brought us out our wedding gift last weekend too!!! They had told us before that they bought us an air conditioner...so we were sooooo excited about that, since its been sooooo hot here!! And so when they showed up, they had not only gotten us that, but they got us a huge BBQ, and patio set as well!! We were in total shock! and so grateful!! Our backyard is so cute now! and our house is nice and cool! Its awesome!!!

So Norms letting me take his car, (which is totally his baby) into Calgary by myself today!! AHHH! haha. I have a few errands to get done, and them in picking Lydia up at the airport! She's comming to stay with me for a few days before she goes to EFY. Im excited!!! I've been missing NS a lot this week! So it'll be nice to see someone from there!!

I should go finish these invitations, and clean the house, and make supper for when my boy gets home..haha

yay for ward potlucks.

Today was pretty uneventful...I still don't have a job. I dropped off a few resumes yesterday, but no ones called me yet. I've just been working today on the house. I built a bookshelf today! and started to organize all Norms books.

I went to a ward potluck last night. It was my first time visiting the ward. The church we're going to is about 20 mins away in a small town called Champion. I think im gonna like it there. The ward reminds me a lot of back home. Everyone knows everyone, and they're really friendly. I found when I was in Calgary no one really made an effort to get to know you. I think that if I wasn't dating Norm I probably wouldn't have liked it. There arent many young people in our ward though..haha. Kinda like this town though! There are a few younger couples in their 30's with kids, and then the rest are over 60! I love old people though, so it will be okay..haha My future Aunt in law got up and announced that im moving into the ward. I hate being the center of attention at new places..haha..or in general really..haha I donno how im gonna make it through our wedding day..hahaha.

I cant wait till this weekend!! My sister in law, and her husband and daughter are coming to stay with me!! We're gonna go to the lake, and just do some outdoor stuff. We have a fire pit in our backyard, so we'll have some bonfires. Im just excited to share my house with someone! I also cant wait for Norm to move here! I miss him sooooooo much!!! Its crazy! I didnt think I would miss him this much. I love how no matter what he can make me laugh. I was upset the other night about just being out here by myself, and missing home, and well I started crying. And he gave me a wet willie with my tears to make me laugh, who does that?!! haha. I cant wait to spend eternity with him!!! Only 38 days to go!!

Im looking for a good professional wedding photographer in Halifax for when I go back there, if anyone has any suggestions!!

Im off to bed. Its crazy how much sleep I get out here! Its just cause there's nothing else to do..haha.

All moved in!

Its been a while since I last wrote. And its honestly just cause i've been so crazy busy!!

Im all moved into our new house now...it's crazy!! I never ever expected to be living in my OWN house within 3 months of moving here! Its all kinda surreal still..haha. I cant wait till I get married though, it still creeps me out sleeping here alone at night. Im a big baby..haha. Norm is still working in Calgary right now, so that sucks. He's moving out here on the weekend though, and is going to stay with relatives till we get married. He got a good job out here, and starts on Monday. I love how things with work have just been working out. This week will be the longest i've gone not seeing him since we met.

So I've decided that I need to find a part time job. I really dont have to, cause Norm can support me..haha. But it is SOOOOOOOOO boring out here!!! Honestly, the days seem soooooo much slower. It is a much slower pace though, which I guess I wanted. I havent seen anyone under 60 in this town though either. There are soooo many old people. And it such a small town that everyone knows everyone. I was at the grocery store the other day and there were these old ladies talking, and I could hear them say, wow there are so many new people moving in, look. I was thinking I can totally hear you! haha Everyones really friendly though, so thats good. They all dress like they're from the country though..haha. its funny:)

All the wedding plans are coming together nicely. There are just a few little things we need to get done now. Im so excited for my family to come visit!!! And to go back to NS..even if its just for a week. Im really missing the beach!! Its been so hot here lately!! Norm took me to the lake the other day, and its just not the same!! We have an outdoor pool across the street from us here though, so thats nice.


I went to the movies with Norms mom and sisters yesterday, while he was at work..haha. We saw Hairspray. I really liked it! I love his family. They're so awesome! And have made a real effort to make me feel like part of the family, which is great!!

I should go get a shower and find a job. Its cute, Norm keeps getting after me to go out and do something. He's scared that the longer I just stay in the house, the more im gonna want kids right away..haha.

Bought my wedding dress!

Im just on my way back from my new home town. In 3 weeks Norm and I offically own our first home. Its so exciting!! I cant wait to be in my own house. To know that where im at is where i'll be staying for a while! And to know that the money im paying is going somewhere, not just being thrown away like rent. Vulcan a cute town. We can pretty much walk anywhere we want to go. Im gonna be working at a small salon there, its nice cause a lot of the services that I offer arent already offered in Vulcan. I look forward to a slower pase of life again. Dont get me wrong, I do love Calgary, its just go go go all the time! I can use a break! haha

The wedding plans are all slowly falling into place. I never realized how much planning it takes to plan everything. Especially since im planning 2 receptions! Its crazy!! 2 months isnt much time at all! But at the same time seems forever away! I'll be glad when everythings over with, and its just me and my husband starting a life together. Right now we have so many people in our lives telling us what they think we should do its kinda getting to me!

I bought my wedding dress last week!! It was kinda a bittersweet moment. All my life I planned on going wedding dress shopping with my mom. But well being out here, that couldnt happen. So I went with my future mother in law instead! One nice thing about living out here though is that they have modest weddin dress stores!! So I didnt have to get my dress altered or anything. I choose the 2nd one I tried on. I walked out of the dressing room, and my mother in law started crying, which made me start crying!! haha. It fit perfectly, I dont need to do any alterations! So thats a plus. Now I just have to make sure I dont gain or lose too much weight..haha

We did our invitation pics yesterday at a waterfall where norm proposed to me! Im really happy with how they turned out!! I cant wait to send them out!

Have I mentioned how much I love my future husband?!!! AHHH it drives me crazy! haha. He's so sweet. The other night he came home from work with a big cute pink daisy!! I was like awww whats this for? And he said just cause he knows i've been stressed lately, and he just wants me to be happy. I love him sooooooo much!!!

ENGAGED!!!!...and bought a house!

I've been meaning to start a blog ever since I moved away from NS...just to keep family and friends updated. But well I never got around to it...till now!!
So I moved to Calgary a little over a month ago now...and Im LOVING it!! I have to be honest..my first day here sucked..I didnt know anyone, all my roomates were at work..and I was homesick..but since then I've hardly been home at all! There always seems to be something going on! Its awesome!!

Finding a job here wasnt hard at all either..I had 3 job offers in 2 days! Im working at Eveline Charles for now. I really like it.

I guess the most exciting part though about moving here is that i've met the love of my life!! and im marrying him on September 1st!! He's so amazing!! I met him 2 days after I moved here...but honestly my first impression of him...I figured that he one of those stuck up buff guys..haha. So I was kinda just like whatever..haha. Then he picked me up the next day to take me to my friends place, who is his sister in law. And we ended up hanging out after that..and well have seen eachother almost every single day since then!! He took me on a date to Banff my first week here, which was amazing! It was so weird to see the mountains up close!! It almost didnt seem real. They're so big!!

I always thought people were crazy getting married after a few months. I thought, how can they know?!!! Thats not enough time!! But well now..i've become a hypocrite!! haha Norm and I were offically dating for 3 weeks when we got engaged! Its so true that when you know you know!! We were talking about marriage 2 days into our relationship, and that normally would have scared me! But with him, it scared me that it didnt scare me! So over the last few weeks..I fell totally head over heals in love with him!! But I wasnt gonna be the first one to say it..haha. And one day in the car he said something like even though I dont say it, I dont want you to doubt how I feel ok..there's just a right time for everything. So I was okay with that..haha.

So I knew we were gonna get married..just didnt know when. I was totally surprised when he proposed!!! My future sister in law told me Saturday that she thought he was gonna do it Canada Day weekend..so that I wouldnt suspect anything..and I didnt. So Saturday night he took me to Lake Bonivista! It was so pretty there..we went for a walk along the lake..and then we got to the top of a hill...overlooking the lake, city and you could see the mountains in the distance, which he pointed out! So then he took me in his arms and looked me in the eyes, and told me that when he looks in my eyes he feels complete, and that when im not with him, he feels like part of him is missing. and that he loves being with me!! And then he said it for the first time, that he loves me sooooooo much!! So I was like aww I love you too!! He was kinda shaking a bit, but I figured he must just be nervous telling me that he loves me! So I kissed him, and while I was kissing him, he pulled my ring out of his pocket, and got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him!!! He told me that he wants to be there for me through everything, he wants me to have his children, he wants to grow old and wrinkly with me..haa he wants to be there when im sick and sad, and just take care of me!! I was in SOOOOOOOOO much shock that I couldnt talk for a min!! I just said...mmmmhhhmm!...and then.." I mean YES!!" Ahhhhhh....its just so exciting..and it was definitly the perfect proposal!! The best part is that my future sister in law was hiding in the bushes taking pics the whole time!! hahaha. I honestly cant wait to be sealed to him for time and all eternity!!

So once the shock of being engaged wore off, we decided to buy a house!! haha. We bought a house in Vulcan..which is about an hour south of Calgary! Its so cute!! I never in a million years thought I would have gotten engaged and bought a house in a month being here!

In other exciting news...one of my good friends got baptized tonight!!! It was sooooo exciting!! I've known her since I was 4...we grew up and went to school together!! She moved out here a bit before me, and started meeting with the missionaries through my roommate. Im just sooo happy for her!! That makes it 3 of my friends from high school who have joined the church since high school...it just makes me so happy!!

Anyhow..im off to bed..I have to work a long day tomorrow..and try to plan a wedding at the same time. They should have wedding leave from work..cause you need it!! haha. Hope this was alright for my first blog entry! haha.
