A month in review, and our exciting news!
So in this last month...hmmm..we got Rocky neutered. The poor little guy was soooo out of it when we brought him home. He had to wear a cone thing on his head, and kept walking into EVERYTHING. He got super sick afterwards though, and it took him over a week to recover. But thankfully he's perfectly fine now. Here's a pic of him recovering. Norm covered him up, and he stayed like it forever..it was so cute!!
I had my birthday June 1st! Norm threw me a bbq party! It was great, till it started raining and we had to cram everyone into our small house! haha. I had a yummy mint chocolate chip ice cream cake that I..I mean umm Norm made.haha. It was my last birthday without a kid! crazy!
My sister in law Dana, threw me a baby shower this month too. It was way fun! She made lots of yummy food and everyone took turns telling horror stories about motherhood..haha. I got soooo many nice gifts!! Thanks everyone!!
This month Norm and I have been working on our house a bit. We put in a new bathroom floor, and it looks sooooo much better!! I dont have any pics of it yet, but when I do i'll do a renovating entry. We're also in the process of having our basement finished. And Norms starting on the ugly painted floor that we have in our living room. So why are we suddenly doing all these renovations?? Well..here's our exciting news!!! We're selling our house!!! We're hoping to put in on the market in the next 2 weeks...we already have a few people who want to look at it, so it looks good. So as long as our house sells we'll be back in Nova Scotia by September! I'll be flying back with baby and puppy and Norm will be driving. Its funny how everything's kinda worked out. Everyone out here thinks that its me forcing Norm to move there. But thats not it AT ALL! Its funny, we were kinda talking about it a bit more when we came back from our last visit there. And one day he came home from work, and was like ok we need to talk. I figured it was gonna be another " I dont wanna move to NS" talk..haha. So was I ever shocked when he was like, "I dont wanna be here anymore". He went on to tell me that he wanted to sell our house asap and move to Nova Scotia. At first I was like are you kidding me?! I couldnt believe it! He had even talked to my mom about it, before he told me! So yea..i'll keep everyone posted on developments!!
Now onto baby news...the little girl is growing like crazy! Im seriously HUGE now!! She tried to escape about 2 weeks ago now..lol. I was totally freaking out! I lost my mucus plug and was leaking fluid, and having contractions, so we went to the hospital here in town. They thought I was going into premature labor so they told Norm to rush me to a hospital in Calgary where they can deliver early babies. So he did. We spent a long time there while they monitored me, and checked everything out. After about 5 hours in the hospital, they sent me home. My contractions werent regular enough, and they determined that my water hadnt broken. So they've just told me to take it easy. It was kinda wake up call for us of how much we didnt have ready! I hadnt even packed my hospital bag or anything. And at that point we hadnt bought a car seat yet or anything. So needless to say we've got all that done now!! Im 36 weeks now....so if she'll just stay in for a bit longer so I can have a bit of a summer break, i'll be happy.
Last weekend was Spock Days here in Vulcan..haha It was pretty crazy! There were all these people dressed up as Star Trek characters! It was kinda scary..haha. They had a parade on Saturday though, which Norm was in, on the Fire Truck, so that was exciting. And they had a mini fair thing downtown. I had been craving cotton candy, and finally was able to get some there, so that was pretty exciting.
Here is Rocky watching the parade...
Here's just some of the scary trekkies in the parade...
And here's my lovely husband....
I only have 4 days left of school! Im pretty excited about it, cause im ready to be done! The kids I work with are so cute though! Yesterday they threw me a surprise going away party. It was so cute!! They were trying to be so secretive...lol. We had root beer floats, and they gave me a big bouquet of balloons and a willow tree angel of learning. The teacher had told them that im moving away next year. And some of them were so upset. They lined up to give me hugs, and some were even crying...soooo sad! They told me that I have to send them letters and pics of my baby. I have to say that out of all the jobs i've had, this has been one of my favorite, and most rewarding.
I think thats pretty much everything that's been going on..i'll try to update more often from now on! Im off to tackle the laundry monster living on my bedroom floor!!

My Grandpa.
Here's a few pics I have of my grandpa from the last year...I have to say that he was looking pretty good for 93 years old!!

And here's his obituary...
MARTIN, William Patrick "Bill" - Passed away on Monday, April 28, 2008, in the Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building, QEII, Halifax. A son of the late Florence (Soward) and Thomas Martin, Bill was born January 29, 1915. He was a lifelong resident of Armdale and was at home on the waters of the Northwest Arm and Atlantic Ocean. He served his country during the Second World War as a wireless operator in the Royal Canadian Navy, on ships including the HMCS Restigouche. Bill had a passion for sports, especially rowing, paddling, hockey, sailing, and he loved walking in the woods, hunting and gardening. He could be seen sculling his rowing shell on the waters of the Northwest Arm into his mid eighties. Bill worked for Customs Canada in many capacities including Registrar of Shipping. He was a lifetime member of the Armdale Yacht Club where he sailed for many years and held executive positions including two terms as Commodore. He sailed in serveral ocean races including nine Marblehead races, and several Newport to Bermuda Races. He was a mentor for many young sailors, and was proud to lead the organizing committee of the first Tall Ships visit to Halifax in 1984. Bill returned to the sport of rowing in the 1980s and helped revive the Halifax Rowing Club. Throughout his life, Bill competed and won many rowing regattas such as Cogswell Harbour Championships in the 1930s, and would later compete at the Head of Charles River Regatta in Boston, Mass., in his seventies. During one such visit to Boston in the 1980s, Bill was scouted by the Ralph Lauren modeling agency and appeared as a Ralph Lauren model in national fashion magazines. Bill and his wife Angela enjoyed their camp in Dean, Musquodoboit Valley, where they spent countless hours gardening and walking in the summers, and cross-country skiing in the winters. They spent many winters in Florida together with family and friends. He was predeceased by wife, Angela (Vaughan). Surviving are his sisters, Irene (Jeff Goode), Mary (Murphy), Joan (Murphy); daughters, Pat and husband Brian Church, Halifax; Peggy and husband Keith Taylor, Wellington; and Jeanne and husband David Ehler, Hubbards; grandchildren, Jonathan (Rachael), Chris, Tim (Penny) and Andrew Church, Ariel (Norm Nelson), Jordan, Hannah, Caleb and Tara Ehler; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Kathleen (Bailly) and Florence (DeBelie); brothers George, Edward, Thomas and Clarence, and infant brother Thomas. His greatest love was his family. He had a full and exciting life and retold his many wonderful experiences with passion at family gatherings. The family wish to thank RJF Home Care, especially Charles Spurr his long-time care worker, and the staff at Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building, QEII, where Bill spent the last four months of his life under their watchful, kind and compassionate care.
