My last night babyless...

Well here it is...my last belly pic...I figured I should take just one more before bed..so thats why I dont have makeup on..:s haha

I have to admit that part of me is gonna miss having this baby belly. For the first time in my life I didnt feel self concious about my weight all the time..haha. Now I wont have an excuse anymore. Speaking of weight, get this..haha. So I was talking to one of my sister in laws the other day, and we were talking about how the ultrasound lady said that the baby is probably around 8 pounds 5 onces. She was going on about how its not gonna be fun to push her out..and I said im okay with it..cause...with my pregnancy i've only gained 22 pounds, and if she's 8.5 that only leaves me like 14 pounds to lose. And she said, well you were overweight to start with. Gee thanks! haha

I am so excited to meet my little one tomorrow! But at the same time its so weird to know when you're going into labor. I was kinda hoping for the whole, "Norm, we need to go to the hospital now" moment. But I guess I shouldnt complain as long as she comes out! haha. She does still have 9 hours to make an entrance on her own.

Speaking of which..im off to bed..I have to get up at 6am tomorrow.

Just a quick short update...with no pics...sorry.

So the doctor called me this morning. I've been approved for an induction Friday morning at 8am! So regardless of what this baby wants to think, she's coming out this week!! haha. I'd much rather her come out on her own anytime before then, but if being induced is what its come to, bring it on! haha. I just want her out. I've started drinking Rasberry Leaf Tea today, (thanks Kristi!) and we'll see if that does anything.

We picked up my sister Hannah at the airport yesterday. She'd had it with being at home..haha. She's been bugging mom to let her come out all summer. So mom finally gave in. So far she's just been hanging out with Rocky. She took him for a long walk this morning, ran him around the yard, scooped his poop! and just took him out again for a walk. He is loving her!

Anyhow..im gonna go drink somemore tea, and relax. Hopefully the next post will be about baby!

Anytime Now Baby!!!

So im 1 week and 1 day overdue!!! I just want this baby OUT!! haha. I've heard so many women say "im done with being pregnant" and I always thought, it isnt that bad, I can deal with this. But now im at the point where "im done!" haha. I went to the doctor yesterday, and she stripped my membranes, which was way painful! But lets hope it speeds things up. If I dont go this weekend, I have an ultrasound Monday, and they'll decide from there if they're going to induce me. I've pretty much tried everything to bring on labour. Even jumping on a trampoline, but if anyone has any advice, maybe there's something I havent tried.

So anyhow...we had a tornado touch down about 5 mins from my house the other week. We were home when it happened, and had no idea! Here's the news story.

My mom has been here now for a week and 1/2. Its been so nice to have her around. She wont relax though..haha.. She's been baking, doing laundry, taking Rocky for walks, and even totally reorganized my tupperware cupboard!

We all went to Heritage Park last Saturday with Dana, Shawn, their kids and Diana and her kids. It was way fun! There was lots to see and do. My mom took lots of pics!! I'll post a few.

Oh, my sister in law had her baby..on my due date! She was 3 weeks early. He's so tiny. They named him Landon Edwin. We're glad we're having a girl, cause Landon was the boy name we had chosen. Here's a pic of him with my mom.

I think thats pretty much all I have to write about right now. Im gonna go for a LONG walk and see if I can get things going. Hopefully this will be my last post babyless!!

Only 13 days to go..

I figured its been a while since i've posted prego pics, so here are some from 2 weeks ago..I dont think i've grown that much since then.

Norm wants me to point out, that yes, we do have water in Alberta..lol. This is at a lake about 20 mins from our house...its not the same as the ocean though..haha

It has been so hot out here lately...I cant stand it!! The last few weeks, whenever I get too hot, I just cant cool down, at all. So I have to say thanks to my amazing husband who installed our air conditioner earlier this week. I'd be dying without it!

Our little baby is just about ready to come out. I cant believe that I only have 13 days left till my due date! I've been having lots of false labour lately. Its no fun! And the Charlie horses in my legs are brutal, but I have to say that overall I am grateful for how lucky i've been. I dont have any stretch marks..knock on wood..lol. People keep telling me how small I am, even though I feel huge. I had a lady the other day in walmart ask if I had 2 months left..haha I was like no way, only 2 weeks. As much as I love being pregnant, I cant wait till this baby is out!! At my last prenatal appointment, the doctor told me that I could have the baby any day now. So thats pretty exciting.

My mom gets here in 11 days!! I cant wait! Shes staying for almost 4 weeks! Its gonna be awesome! I think it'll be good for her to have a bit of a break from the kids. And hopefully they'll learn to appreciate her more once she gets back!

So yesterday, Norm and I went to the dentist. I was sooooo excited cause I hadnt had my teeth cleaned since I lived in Halifax. So there I was having my teeth scraped and whatnot, and I started to feel a bit sick...but I just tried to ignore it. Then the hygenist was like, are you feeling alright, you're looking a bit pale. She sat me up and put a cool compress on my neck..I was totally feeling like I was gonna pass out. Then I felt alright, so she put me back again, and started to polish my teeth, and not even 5 mins later, I was all dizzy again. So im gonna have to come back after the baby is born. I was soooo upset! Norm was out walking the dog, and when he got back the girls at the front desk freaked him out by saying they had tried to call him, and that he better go back and get me. He was freaked out that I was going into labour or something..lol

We bought the last of the baby items that we needed to get yesterday! Our crib matress, and a diaper bag. Norm wanted the one to match our car seat, and stroller. So I said okay, as long as he's the one to carry it all the time!

Our house is coming along very nicely. We're hoping to have everything moved back into the living room today. So i'll have some reno pics up soon!!

Just one more story, before I go clean. So the other day, Norm and I were eating lunch, and Rocky barfed on the staris by our back door. There was no way I was cleaning it, since I was eating, and would probably barf as well. So Norm and I sat there arguing who was gonna clean it, and took so long, that Rocky ate it. How gross is that?!!

Im off to clean the kitchen, and maybe bathroom too, if Norms lucky.

A month in review, and our exciting news!

Its been about a month already since I last wrote. I donno where the time is going!!


So in this last month...hmmm..we got Rocky neutered. The poor little guy was soooo out of it when we brought him home. He had to wear a cone thing on his head, and kept walking into EVERYTHING. He got super sick afterwards though, and it took him over a week to recover. But thankfully he's perfectly fine now. Here's a pic of him recovering. Norm covered him up, and he stayed like it forever..it was so cute!!





I had my birthday June 1st! Norm threw me a bbq party! It was great, till it started raining and we had to cram everyone into our small house! haha. I had a yummy mint chocolate chip ice cream cake that I..I mean umm Norm made.haha. It was my last birthday without a kid! crazy!





My sister in law Dana, threw me a baby shower this month too. It was way fun! She made lots of yummy food and everyone took turns telling horror stories about motherhood..haha. I got soooo many nice gifts!! Thanks everyone!!

This month Norm and I have been working on our house a bit. We put in a new bathroom floor, and it looks sooooo much better!! I dont have any pics of it yet, but when I do i'll do a renovating entry. We're also in the process of having our basement finished. And Norms starting on the ugly painted floor that we have in our living room. So why are we suddenly doing all these renovations?? Well..here's our exciting news!!! We're selling our house!!! We're hoping to put in on the market in the next 2 weeks...we already have a few people who want to look at it, so it looks good. So as long as our house sells we'll be back in Nova Scotia by September! I'll be flying back with baby and puppy and Norm will be driving. Its funny how everything's kinda worked out. Everyone out here thinks that its me forcing Norm to move there. But thats not it AT ALL! Its funny, we were kinda talking about it a bit more when we came back from our last visit there. And one day he came home from work, and was like ok we need to talk. I figured it was gonna be another " I dont wanna move to NS" talk..haha. So was I ever shocked when he was like, "I dont wanna be here anymore". He went on to tell me that he wanted to sell our house asap and move to Nova Scotia. At first I was like are you kidding me?! I couldnt believe it! He had even talked to my mom about it, before he told me! So yea..i'll keep everyone posted on developments!!

Now onto baby news...the little girl is growing like crazy! Im seriously HUGE now!! She tried to escape about 2 weeks ago now..lol. I was totally freaking out! I lost my mucus plug and was leaking fluid, and having contractions, so we went to the hospital here in town. They thought I was going into premature labor so they told Norm to rush me to a hospital in Calgary where they can deliver early babies. So he did. We spent a long time there while they monitored me, and checked everything out. After about 5 hours in the hospital, they sent me home. My contractions werent regular enough, and they determined that my water hadnt broken. So they've just told me to take it easy. It was kinda wake up call for us of how much we didnt have ready! I hadnt even packed my hospital bag or anything. And at that point we hadnt bought a car seat yet or anything. So needless to say we've got all that done now!! Im 36 weeks now....so if she'll just stay in for a bit longer so I can have a bit of a summer break, i'll be happy.

Last weekend was Spock Days here in Vulcan..haha It was pretty crazy! There were all these people dressed up as Star Trek characters! It was kinda scary..haha. They had a parade on Saturday though, which Norm was in, on the Fire Truck, so that was exciting. And they had a mini fair thing downtown. I had been craving cotton candy, and finally was able to get some there, so that was pretty exciting.

I only have 4 days left of school! Im pretty excited about it, cause im ready to be done! The kids I work with are so cute though! Yesterday they threw me a surprise going away party. It was so cute!! They were trying to be so secretive...lol. We had root beer floats, and they gave me a big bouquet of balloons and a willow tree angel of learning. The teacher had told them that im moving away next year. And some of them were so upset. They lined up to give me hugs, and some were even crying...soooo sad! They told me that I have to send them letters and pics of my baby. I have to say that out of all the jobs i've had, this has been one of my favorite, and most rewarding.

I think thats pretty much everything that's been going on..i'll try to update more often from now on! Im off to tackle the laundry monster living on my bedroom floor!!
